C was one of the first programming languages I came in contact with, and honestly, it's a miracle I stuck through after that. All jokes aside, C is an extremely powerful language that will likely never die. I have found it to be an incredible language to study the fundamentals of computer science. I also get an odd sense of joy when I occasionally manage to get a C program through the compiler on the first try. To me, C is not so much a language I would like to seriously work in, but an academic endeavor that has been consistently rewarding for me at every step.
"If it wasn't for C, we'd be writing programs in BASI, PASAL, and OBOL"
